Dani Crompton Designs

Dani is inspired by the natural world, examining its textures, forms and colours as a whole and on a microscopic level.  Her ‘Nature’s Way’ jewellery collection is founded in the beauty of woodlands, beaches and sea life that she observes in her day to day life. 

She then moves on to pondering how to represent what she has seen in her jewellery, combining materials to depict solid structures in combination with the softness of the natural flora. How to connect glass, metal and paper to display it on the body as wearable art? She starts with only a vague idea, no drawings or measurement. Once the materials start to come together, they steer her towards the final design, each one interacting with the last, guiding her to the next move. It is an organic process which comes to its natural end when the completed piece is revealed. 

Dani completed her BA (hons) in Silversmithing, Jewellery and Allied in London at the Guildhall University in 1999 and has been working as a jeweller ever since.
