Fine silver dome, repousse work by unknown craftsman, ring setting and shank sterling silver, dark patina. The dome on the ring was rescued from a silver betel nut sireh container from Myanmar or Thailand dating back to the turn of the century. These sireh accoutrements were extensively used by the Straits Chinese peranakan baba nyonya and have parallels in other betel consuming cultures throughout the Malay Archipelago.
