A Cage Series work, its gridded structures reference human constructs (culture) and how nature (the black pebbles) are contained, and made precious by the structure and the rubies. The metal is literally grown onto and around the gems, like coral growing underwater. The texture on the metal is natural and developed through the rules of biological growth.
