Studio Sooi

Studio Sooi draws inspiration from the power behind a tiny needle which translates ideas into striking shape and form. Working with the needle, thread, metals and stones using a purely artisanal approach, we look at everyday objects with the eye of an artist, to create contemporary jewellery that becomes wearable art.  

In our designs we have tried to bring about a balance between ethics with aesthetics through offering a conscious selection and promotion of artisanal over mass production, fair trade practices over customary and recycling over waste.  

Sooi is a mother daughter run family studio based in India. Our diverging perspectives, discussions and debates lead to designs that reflect a degree of mature sophistication with an edgy youthful rebellion. Sadhana brings in her years of training and experience of fiber arts in India. While her daughter Lavanya draws inspiration from her study at The University of Oxford. As a brand entirely powered by women, we believe Sooi, like ourselves, celebrates the ethos of standing up for standing out.
